LEDR — L’École du Recrutement: 6 episodes to revalue a profession people look down on

When L’École du Recrutement reached out, they had a strong conviction and a real problem: the recruiter’s profession is undervalued in HR’s collective imagination. Too often associated with mechanical headhunting, LinkedIn spam, dehumanizing processes. They wanted to tell a different story.

The project

6 episodes over 2 years. Portraits of trainees learning recruitment differently — with listening, psychology, method. Not branded content in disguise: a real short documentary series about a world that rarely gets filmed.

The chosen format: the intimate documentary series

We chose 90 seconds per episode. Long enough to build attachment. Short enough not to lose attention. Each episode followed a different profile: the former salesperson reinventing himself, the young graduate discovering that recruiting is a form of advisory, the manager coming back to training to change his practices.

The thread: why these people chose this profession, and why they still believe in it despite how others see it.

Production over 2 years

Spreading 6 episodes across 2 years requires visual consistency over time. Same art direction, same color palette, same interview style. But also flexibility: characters evolve, contexts shift. The challenge was holding the unity of the series while letting life seep into each episode.

The result

The LEDR episodes have become references in the French-speaking HR community. Not because they sing the praises of a school — but because they tell the truth about a profession. That’s real brand content: when the content has value independent of the brand that produces it.

This series taught us something important: “unglamorous” subjects are often the most powerful to film. Because nobody else is doing it.
